And so it begins

Thanks to all of you who took part in our PAUSE discussion event in September. We’ve had some great feedback which we’ve tried to respond to in our deliberations on how best to formulate a responsive but productive series of events.

PAUSE will be a themed series of events, with each series running for 4-6 months. Within the series there will be a number of regular events relating to the overall theme. Some will be invited but we hope that the majority will be lead by volunteers willing to PAUSE and dedicate some of their time. The nature of the events will vary – some might be discussions of work/papers, others presentations/performances, some might involve getting out-and-about to see/discuss core issues. There will then be a larger symposium/workshop-style event to bring together the ideas discussed and look forward to potential future developments.

Each series will be kick-started by a discussion group which will programme the session. This is group will be open to anyone interested in contributing to the given theme. There will inevitably be crossover between the themes but hopefully this will help build critical dialogue.

The themes will be as follows:

January-June 2012: ENVIRONMENT
(incorporating some events as part of AV Festival)

June-December 2012: POLICY
(incorporating some events as part of the Intersections Inbetween Network)

January-June 2013: COMMUNITY AND PLACE

There will be a discussion group for environment on Thursday 19th January, 2-4pm (venue TBC). Please e-mail: info@intersectionspublicart.org.uk if you would like to attend.
